Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information 1settofailure.com (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects when you use our AI-powered strength coaching service, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you sign in with Google we receive your email address, display name, and profile picture as provided by Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Conversation data: Every message you send to the AI coach and every response generated is stored linked to your account. This allows you to review your coaching history across sessions and devices, and allows the AI to maintain context within a conversation.
Training context you provide: If you share personal details in the chat — such as your bodyweight, training history, exercise preferences, injuries, or goals — that information becomes part of your conversation data. We use it solely to generate relevant coaching responses.
Subscription and billing data: If you upgrade to Pro, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or billing address. We only receive a confirmation of your subscription status and renewal dates from Stripe.
Usage data: We collect anonymous, aggregated data such as session frequency, feature interactions, and error reports. This data cannot identify you individually and is used only to improve the service.
Device and browser data: Standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and referring URL. This is used for security and abuse prevention only and is not linked to your account.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your account information to authenticate you and display your profile across sessions. We use your conversation data to power the AI coaching experience — specifically, recent messages are sent to the language model as context so responses remain coherent and personalised. We use your subscription status to gate Pro features. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes, ever.
3. AI Processing & Conversation Data
When you send a message, your text (along with recent conversation history) is transmitted to a third-party large language model (LLM) provider to generate a coaching response. This is a core function of the service. The LLM provider processes the text under a data processing agreement with us and does not use your data to train their models beyond what is disclosed in their API terms.
Because your messages are processed by an external AI, you should avoid including highly sensitive personal information such as full names of others, financial details, or medical diagnoses in the chat. The AI coach is designed for strength training guidance, not medical consultation.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your account and conversation data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure in the European Union. Firebase enforces encryption at rest and in transit. Access to Firestore is controlled by security rules that restrict each user to their own data only — no other user or anonymous third party can read your conversations.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely immune to security risks. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.
5. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following sub-processors, each bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements:
Google Sign-In & Firebase (Google LLC) — user authentication, real-time database, and cloud hosting. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Stripe, Inc. — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. Privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
AI / LLM provider — language model inference for generating coaching responses. Messages you send are processed by this provider under a data processing agreement.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
We do not use advertising cookies. The service uses browser localStorage to store your session state, conversation history cache, and subscription status locally on your device for performance reasons. This data mirrors what is stored in Firebase and is cleared when you sign out or clear your browser data.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You may also have the right to restrict or object to certain processing, or to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@1settofailure.com. We will respond within 30 days. EU/EEA residents may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account and conversation data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including your full conversation history — is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymised analytics data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely.
9. Children’s Privacy
1settofailure.com is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. High-intensity training to failure is not appropriate for children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or sending an email to the address on your account. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
